gained a great deal of popularity as a metaphysical divinatory
tool and a way to open doorways to other worlds. They have been used by
psychics for healing, diagnosing illness, fortune telling and contacting
spirit guides and angels.
Throughout history crystal ball gazing has flourished and sometimes been
driven underground. However some people choose to use those with a milky or even black surface and it is possible to get some good results using a mirror or other reflective surface. A crystal ball should not be used for public spectacle or used as an ornament when not in use, but like all divinational tools be treated with reverence and stored in a special place or cabinet and covered when not in use, preferably with a black silk cloth. The crystal ball should be kept clean and by washing in mild soapy water. Some psychics like to charge their crystal ball by periodically placing them outside for twenty four to forty eight hours, especially around the time of a full moon. Take time to relax before using your crystal ball, and make sure that you're not going to be disturbed. Some people like to begin by lighting a candle or saying a prayer. Begin by lowering the lights and gaze into it. Your gaze should be relaxed and focused on a spot about ten or twelve inches beyond the other side, so that it is slightly out of focus. Next try to hold within your mind the question that you may have, if your attention wanders gently bring it back to the task. Pay attention to what appears; don't be put of if nothing happens. Crystal ball gazing is like any other skill and requires practice. The experience with crystal balls can vary. Some psychics notice a mist or cloud appearing in spots. At first shapes, images and symbols will begin to appear and these will need to be interpreted. With practice the symbols will begin to develop into actual images and entire scenes, but even then they may need interpreting. This will vary from person
